Connecticut Sun Employment Opportunities
The Connecticut Sun is currently accepting applications for the below internship positions for the summer of 2012. All qualified candidates must be able to work all games (which may include day, night, weekend, and holiday games). These positions are unpaid. Game Day: This individual will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and execution of all Connecticut Sun home games.
Responsibilities include: Formatting scripts, preparing props and game elements, contacting performers and staff, supervise the setting up concourse tables and activities, and executing in-game promotions. Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office and have effective communications skills. The successful candidate should have an interest in live event production.
Public Relations: This individual will provide support for the Connecticut Sun PR Staff.
Responsibilities include: Compiling statistical packets, setting up the arena for game day, handling credential requests, filing post-game notes and quotes, supplying content for the web and helping facilitate player interaction with media. Recommended majors include anything in the communications field, particularly journalism and public relations. Candidates will be able to produce writing samples, possess good communication and organizational skills and must have a working knowledge of basketball, and should have a familiarity with the WNBA. Adobe InDesign skills and basic HTML knowledge are a plus.
Community Relations: This individual will provide support for the Connecticut Sun CR Staff.
Responsibilities include: Organizing and tracking donation requests, helping set up for Community Relations appearances and accompanying staff and players to appearances. Candidates will organize and process donation requests, field public inquiries, maintain database of requests, track inventory and provide support at all player and team public appearances.
