Dinner with Sheri

It seems easy – all you have to do is line the ball up, give it a quick tap and it settles nicely into the cup. But as Janel McCarville joined two fans for a game of miniature golf at Celebration Station, they quickly realized that it wasn’t going to be that simple. But regardless of the score, the trio had a great time laughing and talking as they made their way around the course.

While Janel was hitting the links, Teana Miller was across town enjoying a spot of tea and an evening of conversation with another group of fans at La-Tea-Da’s. Two fans also had the chance to talk with Sheri Sam as they joined her for a steak dinner at The Capital Grille.

Testing their basketball skills on the court against one of the top shooters of the game was another opportunity given to two fans who battled it out with Kelly Mazzante in a game of HORSE. Allison Feaster meanwhile got her competitive juices flowing off the court as she matched wits with fans on the video games at Jillians. At Park Lanes, Helen Darling aimed for strikes and shared with a young fan some bowling tips.

Fun definitely was the main objective in all of these activities, but it was never more evident than when Tangela Smith and Ayana Walker joined two kids for a race around the go-cart track. Everyone was all smiles as they sped around the track, putting their driving skills to the test.

These outings were all part of the Sting Experience Auction, where fans were given the opportunity to bid on a number of interactive activities during a Sting home game on June 25. Sting fans stepped up, bidding over $2,000 for the chance to hang out with their favorite players throughout the month of August. All of the money was donated to the Bobcats Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic initiative of the Charlotte Bobcats and Charlotte Sting. The foundation enables the Bobcats and Sting to work in partnership with area organizations to support programs that offer enrichment to the children and youth of the Charlotte region.
