Bogues Visits Trinity Episcopal

A group of students at Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte received a special visit on Friday, January 13, as Sting Head Coach Muggsy Bogues attended a breakfast held in their honor.

The group which consisted of sixth, seventh and eighth graders, were honored as this year's winner of the Barnabus Award. The award recognizes the group at the school that most exemplifies the values of kindness and doing good deeds.

Not only did this group demonstrate these values as indivdiuals but as a group, as they helped hold a soccer event for the third graders.

To help recgonize their efforts, Muggsy joined them as they dined on a breakfast of their choosing. As they ate, he shared with them some of the experiences from his life as well as what it took to overcome the challenges he faced as he worked to achieve his dream of playing in the NBA.

He also shared with the kids the important message of being yourself, loving who you are and ignoring the critics, as you work toward success.

Following breakfast, Muggsy joined the kids in the gym where he worked with the kids on their basketball skills. Then it was time for a little fun, as he first joined the kids in a game of knockout and then a in a little friendly game of 5-on-1, five kids against Muggsy.

The kids had a great time, as they ran up and down the length of the court, defending and shooting against an NBA great.
