To celebrate their 10th anniversary and thank the city of Charlotte for its support, the Sting embarked on a 10-day community outreach effort that began on Wednesday, May 10. As part of the 10 Days of Caring, the Sting hosted at least one event in the Charlotte community daily until their season opener on Saturday, May 20, at Charlotte Bobcats Arena against Chicago.

May 14, 2006 - Sting community relations ambassador Andrea Stinson and members of the Sting staff made a special delivery of pastries and flowers to the mothers at the Salvation Army Women & Children's Shelter during their Mother's Day Breakfast.

May 17, 2006 - Sting players Kelly Mazzante, Ayana Walker and LaToya Bond and community relations ambassador Andrea Stinson grabbed their shovels and rakes and donned their work gloves to help the students at Park Road Montessori School brighten their school grounds with a landscape improvement project.

DARLING PART OF MUSCLE TEAM 2006
May 17, 2006 - Sting guard Helen Darling joined Bobcats Matt Carroll and Kevin Burleson, Bobcats mascot Rufus Lynx and Sting mascot Buggsy at Muscle Team 2006, a private event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Wednesday, May 17, at Bank of America Stadium. Athletes were paired with a child who has a neuro-muscular disease, and throughout the night, the athletes and their buddy played games and participated in interactive entertainment, such as videogames, putt-putt and pop-a-shot.

May 18, 2006 - The Sting continued to bring smiles to children’s faces, as players Helen Darling and Monique Currie teamed with community relations ambassador Andrea Stinson for a Reading Timeout at the Simmons YMCA.
