August 10 2006 - As a thank you for their dedication during the 2006 season, the Sting hosted A Party In The Park for members of the Kids Club. The kids were treated to a fun-filled evening of arts-and-crafts, athletics and pizza.
August 7, 2006 - The entire Sting team along with Head Coach Muggsy Bogues and Assistant Coach Earl Cureton hosted a basketball clinic for 50 Special Olympic Athletes. The athletes rotated through five stations learning more about passing, dribbling, shooting, rebounding and defense.
July 24, 2006 - Sting players Kelly Mazzante, Tasha Butts and LaToya Bond visited the girls at the Queens University Basketball Camp hoping to inspire and teach the next generation of basketball players.
July 24, 2006 - When the Sting played the Phoenix Mercury at Charlotte Bobcats Arena, they fought hard, but were defeated for the first time in five games. However, they also fought for another cause -- the fight against breast cancer.
July 21, 2006 - Sting guard Allison Feaster and centers Tye’sha Fluker and Yelena Leuchanka visited Presbyterian Hemby Children’s Hospital and interacted with children ages six months to 14 years, brightening the patients’ spirits and make them forget about their illnesses
June 16, 2006 - Charlotte’s players typically shoot free throws after practice as their coaches observe and give advice. On this day, it was the Sting players who were there to help a group of 175 campers at the SOAR Special Olympics camp.
June 6, 2006 - Even Sting players Sheri Sam and Tammy Sutton-Brown were screaming for ice cream at a Charlotte-area YWCA where they hosted a Reading Timeout for 25 kindergarten, first and second graders and then made ice cream from scratch for everyone.
May 10-20, 2006 - To celebrate their 10th anniversary and thank the city of Charlotte for its support, the Sting held their 10 Days of Caring, a 10-day community outreach effort.
January 26, 2006 - Guard Helen Darling and Head Coach Muggsy Bogues joined Bobcats forward Emeka Okafor, sideline reporter Stephanie Ready and Rufus Lynx at Reid Park Elementary to reveal a one-of-a-kind reading corner.

  • On Tuesday, September 27 Sting Head Coach Muggsy Bogues joined Bobcats guard Raymond Felton and Bobcats Color Analyst Henry Williams in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the second stop of the Carolinas Caravan. The trio spent the day visiting fans around the city.
