During the Season of Giving, were reminded that the greatest gifts come from giving back. This week in downtown Sacramento, Sacramento Monarchs Center Yolanda Griffith was rewarded after distributing present to hundreds of children and youth in need at the Francis House as part of Maloof Sports & Entertainments sixth annual Season of Giving.
Griffith purchased a number of the gifts for the drive, specifically for teenagers whose families are served by Francis House. Francis House is a resource and counseling center that assists families in breaking the cycle of poverty. All too often, they provide the last hope for those disenfranchised from the mainstream of society.
I feel great to be a part of this, said Griffith. Around the holidays you want to share in the joy of giving to families and young children, and see the smiles on their face. And the best part for Griffith? Its seeing the little ones ride away on the bicycles, or picking them up and holding them while we get our picture taken. Just seeing their reaction is the best part for me. You always want to see young kids happy, and Im seeing a lot of happy faces today.
Maloof Sports & Entertainments sixth annual Season of Giving consists of a series of charitable events and projects as part of an ongoing effort to make a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in need throughout the Sacramento community. Beginning on Thursday, December 6, Kings and Monarchs players, members of the Sacramento Kings Dance Team, Slamson and volunteers from Maloof Sports & Entertainment participate in two weeks of charitable giving and holiday fun benefiting children and families throughout the region.
