HOUSTON (October 3, 2008) -- The Houston Comets in conjunction with Celebrating You, a youth enrichment program, presented the “Celebrating the King and Queen in You” initiatives at the Reliant Arena on September 6, 2008. The program was a big success and it made a positive impact on the lives of all who attended. Over two-hundred (200) people attended this event. Local businesses played a vital role in enriching the lives of young people. The youth were introduced to business and community leaders and given pertinent information on the technical, academic, communication, and employability skills necessary for success. The Houston Comets were confident that this program would not only provide entertainment for the youth who would never have the opportunity to experience otherwise, but also educate youth on how to be successful in the global marketplace.

Businesses and individuals participated as sponsors and partners of this event by purchasing tickets as donations for youth to attend this enrichment program and the Houston Comets and Los Angeles Sparks game.

“I thank everyone for their hard work in making this event such a great success”, said Lisa Williams, who coordinated the program.
